Sara Williams gets a mention in the history of Wales Rally GB

#1 British female rally driver Sara Williams has earned recognition in the official history of Wales Rally GB.

Running since 1932, the rally is one of the most prestigious motor sporting events in the UK, annually attracting the world’s top echelon of rally drivers. Sara and her co-driver Patrick Walsh gained great acclaim during the 2012 event for securing The Croeso Trophy for highest placed Welsh crew. Wales Rally GB has recognised this achievement in their official website timeline of the event. The award is presented in honour of Welsh co-driver Gareth Roberts, who tragically lost his life competing in the sport he loved.  The trophy is provided by The Gareth Roberts Fund, which helps support rally drivers and co-drivers harmed in accidents.

Sara is returning to make her international debut at the 2014 event with new sponsor V-Ex Virtual Exhibitions; producers of photorealistic  3D environments and graphics for promotion and education. It will be Sara’s first World Rally Championship event. Furthermore, she will be the only British female driver contesting at the highest level. Britain has a rich history of home-grown motorsport talent – consequently Sara finds herself following in the steps of domestic rallying greats such as Colin McRae and Richard Burns. From the 13th – 16th November you can catch Sara and Patrick battle fellow drivers and the elements across North Wales.

V-Ex Virtual Exhibitions will also be there to support Sara, helping her to earn more accolades in the sport she excels at.
